A seven-year-old boy from Greater Noida was operated on the wrong eye at Anand Spectrum Hospital in Sector Gamma 1. This happened on November 12. An investigation has been opened into the incident that has outraged the family of the minor.

The child, Yudhisthir, was taken to a hospital after he developed a persistent watering from the left eye. His father, Nitin Bhati, said that the examining doctor, Anand Verma, told him that he had seen a "plastic-like object" in the left eye and would have to perform surgery on it for the issue to be resolved.

The surgery, which cost the patient ₹45,000, was scheduled and performed on Tuesday.

When Yudhisthir returned home after the surgery, an unfortunate mistake was discovered, the operation was done on the right eye instead of the left. The family sued Dr Verma and confronted him.

According to the police, the doctor and his staff misbehaved with the family.

Yudhisthir's family created a scene at the hospital and complained to the Chief Medical Officer of Gautam Buddha Nagar. In the complaint submitted by the boy's father, he demanded the cancellation of Dr. Verma's license and also urged him to seal the hospital to prevent such mishaps from happening again.

Authorities have confirmed that an investigation is underway. “Proper action will be taken soon,” the police assured, as the case brings attention to the need for stringent accountability in medical procedures.
