Abhinav Arora a 10-year-old boy from Delhi who recently became famous after a video surfaced where Swami Rambhadracharya was seen rebuking him during a religious function held in 2023. Known for his devotional content, Abhinav started his spiritual journey at three and has since mesmerized people with his spiritual teachings and performances.

The recent video stirred a big debate in social media circles, however, his mother Jyoti Arora maintains it was over-reacted. She described the criticism as being succeeded by an award. "It was not such a big issue as it is being made out to be," she said, stating that Swami Rambhadracharya later blessed her son, which, she feels, should also be acknowledged.

What happened?

On Monday, the Arora family said that a life threat had arrived claiming to be a part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Crying while talking to ANI, Jyoti Arora expressed her woes about the situation saying  "Abhinav has not done anything other than devotion that he has to tolerate so much,"

“We received a call message from the Lawrence Bishnoi group today where we were being threatened that Abhinav would be killed,” she said. First, a missed call, and then a message claiming Abhinav would be harmed. According to reports, ever since the threats have started, the family, including Abhinav himself, has been afraid to feel safe. Recently, he described a situation where there was “chaos outside the house” and questioned how long they would be able to endure such harassment.

The viral video

The video of the religious event where Abhinav is spotted with Swami Rambhadracharya dancing and chanting on stage before telling them to leave. His mother said Abhinav was lost in devotion and started chanting at that time, hence the reaction of Swami. Abhinav and his mother both presented their defenses for the incident wherein Abhinav said, “Everyone is focusing on his scolding and not the blessing that he gave me afterward.” and clarified that the video was taken in 2023 in Vrindavan, not Pratapgarh as some outlets reportedly mentioned.

The nightmare for the Arora family lately has brought a focus on the issues that young influencers face in the public eye especially when controversy meets high profile threats. With some hope clung on, the family still wishes for a peaceful end to the issue at hand while online backlash coupled with security concerns increase regarding Abhinav.
