In a significant stride towards female health empowerment, Flo Health, a leader in menstrual and fertility tracking technology, has announced its launch in India this Diwali. The timing coincides with the company reaching a landmark $1 billion valuation following a successful series C funding round. Flo Health, boasting over 80 million monthly active users globally and 1.5 million in India, has partnered with FemTech India to introduce the ‘Pass It On Project’—a campaign designed to enhance access to vital health information for millions of Indian women.
The initiative is a response to startling statistics from India's largest Period Health Study by Gynoveda, revealing that 70% of Indian women suffer menstrual health issues, and 58% are uninformed on managing their menstrual health. The Pass It On Project, established in 2022, has already supported 18 million women across 66 countries by providing free Flo Premium subscriptions, which offer comprehensive health insights, including management of conditions like PCOS and endometriosis.
Dr. Anna Klepchukova, Chief Medical Officer at Flo Health, expressed her enthusiasm about the initiative: “We are excited to officially launch Flo Health in India, a country where women’s health is often underrepresented. With 36 million users in India already relying on Flo to track their health, we believe our 'Pass it On' Mission will spark a movement of awareness and empowerment. We aim to reach women in even the most remote areas, making women's health accessible to all. This launch is just the beginning of our journey to promote holistic health for women.”
Navneet Kaur, founder of FemTech India, added, “Our mission is to support women's health by fostering collaborations and showing India's potential to the world. We are proud to be the first company from India to be part of the UNFPA Equity Alliance 2030 and thrilled to partner with Flo Health on the 'Pass It On' project, providing free access to millions of Android users in India. As we celebrate Diwali, a season of light and hope, there is no better time to inspire positive change and celebrate.
The Diwali campaign aims to shine a light on often overlooked and underfunded aspects of women's health, which lead to adverse health and fertility outcomes. By working with FemTech India, Flo Health plans to reach female Android users across India, particularly in regions where access to reliable health information and medical support is scarce.
The Flo Health app is currently available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple iOS Store. The Pass It On Project will continue to offer free subscriptions on Android in 65 countries for one year from the upgrade date and will be available in Ukraine on iOS and Android until December 31, 2025.
This Diwali, Flo Health's launch marks not just a festival of lights but a beacon of hope and health for women across India, promising a future where female health is not just a concern but a priority.
