The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance at the Centre is home to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 3.0 Union Cabinet, and as such, the ministers have taken office and set forth their agendas for the coming year.
There are 30 Cabinet ministers in the council of ministers, five of whom are from affiliated parties: Janata Dal (United), Hindustani Awam Morcha Secular (Secular), Janata Dal (Secular), and Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas (LJP).
Rajnath Singh: Upon assuming office for a second term in a row, the Union Minister of Defence declared that the new government would prioritise enhancing national security through the modernization of the armed forces and boosting domestic defence manufacturing. He presented a strategy to raise defence exports by 50,000 crore by 2028–2029, from 21,083 crore. Rajnath Singh oversaw the Ministry of Home Affairs during Narendra Modi's first term as prime minister.
Amit Shah: In order to fulfil PM Modi's goal of a safe Bharat, the Ministry of Home Affairs would continue to reinforce and expedite security efforts and introduce new strategies, according to Amit Shah, the Union Minister for Cooperation and Home Affairs. In keeping with the mission of "Sahakaar Se Samriddhi," he added that the Ministry of Cooperation will continue to be devoted to empowering farmers and villages. The government is also committed to improving the lives of the millions of people involved in this industry by creating new opportunities and elevating the concept of cooperation.
Nitin Gadkari: Under the imaginative leadership of Narendra Modi, Nitin Gadkari, a Union Minister, stated that India will rapidly become outfitted with elite, contemporary infrastructure. For an unprecedented third term in a row, Gadkari is leading his cabinet. Additionally, in an effort to give injured drivers prompt and all-encompassing medical care, he reaffirmed the deployment of cashless treatment for accident victims.
JP Nadda: After taking office, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda stated that India's healthcare system is known across the world for its quality and for having both modern and reasonably priced infrastructure. India is becoming a well-known medical tourism destination globally as a result of this change. He instructed senior officials to concentrate on the government's goal for the first 100 days, particularly on expanding coverage for individuals 70 years of age and older under the Ayushman Bharat initiative. Before becoming the head of the BJP in 2019, Nadda served as the health minister during the first term of the Modi administration.
Nirmala Sitharaman: Union Minister for Finance Nirmala Sitharaman declared that the reforms implemented since 2014 will stand and will contribute to India's macroeconomic stability and expansion upon assuming office for a second term in a row. She added that there is a positive economic outlook for the upcoming years and praised India's remarkable recent growth story in the face of international obstacles. In order to realise the prime minister's goal of a "Viksit Bharat," she instructed officials to continue pushing the NDA government's development agenda and make sure that policies are responsive.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan: Soon after assuming leadership, the Union Minister for Agriculture stated on social media that the ministry would play a crucial role in bringing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of making India a developed nation to fruition. According to him, the prime minister's main concern is farmer welfare, and he and the other ministries and officers would collaborate as a unit. Additionally, he gave his officers a "Sankalp Patra" that included the Prime Minister's assurances as well as actions that needed to be followed to ensure the welfare of farmers.
S Jaishankar: Assuming leadership of the Union Ministry of External Affairs for a second term in a row, Jaishankar stated that a government winning election three times in a row is a very significant development in a democracy. He stated that the people of India must have faith in their Prime Minister and that the country is politically stable. In China, the government is concentrating on finding solutions to some border-related problems. According to him, the Centre will concentrate on finding a solution for Pakistan on the problem of terrorism and cross-border terrorism.
Manohar Lal Khattar: The Union Minister for Power and Urban Affairs stated that preventing flooding in cities and ensuring that all of the country's metro projects are completed on time will be his top priorities. In addition, he gave the police orders to plan a significant waste-to-wealth and cleanliness campaign.
Piyush Goyal: The government is dedicated to providing young people with new opportunities and is working nonstop to ensure the welfare of all residents, according to Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal. The country is ready to reach new heights under PM Modi's visionary leadership, he said, adding that by adopting the idea of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Prayas, the collective efforts and trust of the people will drive India towards a brighter future."
Dharmendra Pradhan: The Union Minister of Education has conveyed his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unwavering belief in him. Additionally, he stated that he and his team look forward to the Prime Minister's leadership and guidance in setting new standards for the execution of NEP 2020, modernising the nation's educational system, empowering citizens, and positioning India as a knowledge economy for the twenty-first century.
Ram Mohan Naidu: After taking office, Ram Mohan Naidu, a TDP MP and Union Minister for Civil Aviation, declared that he would try to lower airfares, saying that they present a hardship for the average person. According to him, the government wants to ensure that air travel is inexpensive for everyone, and that this can only be done through increasing its accessibility.
Rajiv Ranjan Singh: The Union Minister for Fisheries and a JD(U) MP, has instructed officials to devise a plan aimed at augmenting the export of value-added fisheries products. Additionally, he has instructed them to discuss with the Ministry of Finance the possibility of sending out advisories to all banks regarding the extension of KCC facilities to all qualified fishermen.
