Modi govt’s 3.0 first 100 days witnesses massive infrastructure projects

In an interview discussing the delivery of PM Narendra Modi’s third term government in the first 100 days, a senior government official said a record Rs 3 lakh crore have been put into infrastructure. Within the first one hundred days the infrastructure projects of Rs 3 lakh crore consisting of ports, roads, trains and Airlines were brought into operation and sanctioned.

Besides, a large number of big projects including Wadhavan mega port in Maharashtra involve a project expenditure of Rs 76200 crore. It is going to be developed to be one of the most favorite ten ports of the world.

A significant milestone in the process of progress was taken in terms of infrastructure where the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for Shinkhun La Tunnel to connect Ladakh with Himachal Pradesh. Another eight new railway line projects also exist which have been cleared by Modi government and expect to provide 4. 42 crore human-days employment.

Key Infrastructure Projects in the First 100 Days: Achievements and Impact

New High Speed Corridor projects included eight projects each stretching 936 kilometer for which an investment commitment of Rs 50,000 was done. In total 25, 000 communities will be connected by the government.

New permissions by the Modi government also included, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, under which 4. 27 crore new housing units are planned for construction–fifty-seven percent to be in urban areas and forty-three percent in rural areas.

‘We functioned in a mission mode during the first 100 days of the Action Plan with instruction rounds in every round of cabinet meetings,’ a senior official of key ministry told TNIE. He said that whatever has been made in the last 100 days will help in setting an example for other projects in the coming years as an example is required of the ongoing construction of the Shikun La tunnel.
