Two arrested after attempting to gatecrash the Ambani wedding in Mumbai
Two individuals, Luqman Mohammad Shafi Shaikh (28), a businessman, and Venkatesh Narsaiah Aluri (26), a YouTuber were booked for attempted gatecrashing.
Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre witnessed a grand celebration as Anant Ambani, the youngest son of billionaire businessman Mukesh Ambani, tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart, Radhika Merchant. The Ambani wedding in Mumbai drew a massive crowd and a plethora of high-profile guests, making it the talk of the town.
However, amidst the glittering festivities, unexpected drama unfolded. Two individuals, Luqman Mohammad Shafi Shaikh (28), who identified himself as a businessman, and Venkatesh Narsaiah Aluri (26), a YouTuber from Andhra Pradesh, were booked for attempted gatecrashing. The duo claimed they were drawn to the wedding due to the enormous buzz surrounding it.
Uninvited Guests Create Drama at Ambani Wedding in Mumbai
According to the news agency PTI, Aluri expressed intentions to record and feature the event on his channel. The first incident occurred around 10:40 am on July 12 when security guard Aakash Yevaskar apprehended Aluri near Pavilion 1 of the venue. Aluri had initially tried to gain entry through gate number 23 without an invitation but managed to trespass through gate number 19 after being denied entry the first time. When questioned by security, Aluri allegedly harassed the personnel and was subsequently handed over to the BKC police station.
Later that night, around 2:40 am on July 13, Shaikh was found on the first floor of the Centre, behaving suspiciously. A security guard, checking for his invitation and finding none, alerted the security manager. Shaikh admitted to sneaking into the ceremony through gate number 10. Despite being asked to leave, he refused, resulting in his handover to the police.
“A trespassing case was filed against the two men under the appropriate section, and they were issued notices as per legal provisions,” stated an officer. After necessary legal procedures, both individuals were released.
Despite this hiccup, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding remained a spectacular affair, celebrated in the presence of family, friends, and luminaries from various fields.
