Famed producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother, Shobha Kapoor, have found themselves entangled in a legal dispute over allegations linked to their web series Gandii Baat, which streams on ALT Balaji. A case has been lodged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the duo alleging them to have presented inappropriate scenes with minor girls in Season 6 of the web series.

The case, lodged at Mumbai's MHB police station, also implicates Balaji Telefilms Limited. The complaint states that the controversial episode, which aired between February and April 2021, depicted objectionable content involving minors. Charges have been filed under sections 295-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the IT Act, and sections 13 and 15 of the POCSO Act. However, the specific episode in question is no longer available for streaming on ALT Balaji.

What else is keeping Ekta Kapoor in the headlines?

While the legal case grabs attention, Ekta Kapoor's latest film, Love, Sex aur Dhokha 2 (LSD 2), has made its theatrical debut on April 19. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the film explores the rapidly increasing intrusion of the digital world on personal lives.

The poster of LSD 2 grabs eyeballs on the high points of society being the sport of addiction to technology; a couple caught between their intimacy and digital distraction. As Ekta Kapoor navigates both legal battles and the release of her new project, she remains a focal point in the entertainment industry.
