Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar recently opened up about a horrific incident involving his daughter to raise awareness about online safety. While speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Cyber Awareness Month 2025 held at the State Police Headquarters, the actor recalled a shocking moment from a few months ago.

Akshay shared that his daughter was playing an online video game when a stranger sent her a message, asking for her gender. When she replied “female,” the person immediately asked for nude photos. Shocked and uncomfortable, his daughter instantly shut down the game and informed her mother.

Akshay said this frightening experience became a big lesson for their family about the dangers children face on the internet, even while doing something as simple as playing video games.

Later, while speaking at a public event in Mumbai, Akshay Kumar appealed to the Maharashtra Chief Minister to introduce a weekly “Cyber Period” in schools for students from Classes 7 to 10. He stressed that cybercrime is now more dangerous than street crime, and children must be educated and empowered to protect themselves online.

Sharing this experience, Akshay Kumar has urged authorities to introduce mandatory cyber safety education in schools after recounting a disturbing incident involving his daughter during an online game.

Speaking at a public event, Kumar warned that casual conversations on gaming platforms can quickly escalate into cybercrime. He stressed the importance of teaching children how to identify and avoid online predators.

Calling for preventive measures, he appealed to the Maharashtra Chief Minister to introduce a weekly ‘Cyber Period’ for students of Classes 7 to 10, focused on online safety and responsible digital behaviour.
