Amazon Prime recently dropped Saif Ali Khan-starrer political drama series Tandav on its platform. Since its release on January 15, the web series has been receiving bashing across platforms for its anti-Hindu and anti-Government propaganda.
Within just a day of its release, Ali Abbas Zaffar's directorial has lent into serious trouble.
From legal notices to demands of 'ban' to netizens at #BanTandavNow which has been trending at number 1 since morning with lakhs of tweets, the series has been labeled anti-Dalit and several other scenes where Hindu gods were mocked and made subject to abuses.
The series romanticises dissent, violence against government and spreads Hinduphobia amongst the public which is why the people have reached out to the ministry of IB.
Although, BJP's infamous Kapil Mishra has been leading this trend of Boycott, the majority of the government seemed to have ignored the matter like every other boycott/ban webseries & movies trend that has surfaced over the past one year.
It is clear that the mafia has decided to non-stop produce content that hurts religious sentiments of Hindus but something to be noted is that the government is not listening to its own majority of voters.
While Ministry of IB under Prakash Javadekar has been asked to 'Ban the series', we can take examples of past that even more offensive content has surfaced over the OTT platforms and NONE has been taken down, not even the ones against the Army.
It is clear that irrespective of what is broadcasted, the hinduphobic and anti-India content will never be blocked. Although if it is about the IAS-Jihad, the Supreme Court will interevene because content against minorities cannot be accepted.
The BJP government is playing safe as it knows the voters don't have anywhere to go and it is their time to lure the left/liberal voters, which is highly unlikely but who will tell them that?
