The Filmfare Awards 2024 were held on Sunday night, and the major winners were the cast of 12th Fail, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt. This year's Filmfare Awards were held in Gujarat, where Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 12th Fail was named Best Film of the Year. Ranbir Kapoor was named Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for his performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's controversial film Animal, while Alia Bhatt won the highly anticipated award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for her performance in Karan Johar's romantic family drama Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra was named Best Director, and his biographical drama 12th Fail won Best Film, beating out Animal, Atlee Kumar's Jawan, Amit Rai's OMG 2, Siddharth Anand's Pathaan, and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. Devashish Makhija's thriller Joram, on the other hand, won the Filmfare award for Best Film (Critics'), while Vikrant Massey (12th Fail), Rani Mukerji (Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway), and Shefali Shah (Three Of Us) were selected Best actors by the critics and received the famous Black Lady award.

The event, hosted by Karan Johar, actor Ayushmann Khurrana, and TV anchor Maniesh Paul, highlighted elegant red-carpet appearances, exciting performances, and motivational victories.

Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female): Shabana Azmi's performance in "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" won her the Best Supporting Actress award.

Best Lyrics: Amitabh Bhattacharya won the Best Lyrics award for the song "Tere Vaaste" from "Zara Hatke Zara Bachke".

Best Music Album: The film "Animal" won the award for Best Music Album, with contributions from a talented team of musicians, including Pritam, Vishal Mishra, Manan Bhardwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Jaani, Bhupinder Babbal, Ashim Kemson, Harshwardhan Rameshwar, and Gurinder Seagal.

Best Playback Singer (Male): Bhupinder Babbal was recognized as the Best Male Playback Singer for the song "Arjan Vailly" from "Animal".

Best Playback Singer (Female): Shilpa Rao won the Best Female Playback Singer for her song "Besharam Rang" from "Pathaan".

Best Story: The award for Best Story was shared by Amit Rai for "OMG 2" and Devashish Makhija for "Joram".

Best Screenplay: Vidhu Vinod Chopra was honored with the Best Screenplay award for "12th Fail".

Best Dialogue: Ishita Moitra won the award for Best Dialogue for her work in "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani".

Best Action: The team of Spiro Razatos, Anl Arasu, Craig Macrae, Yannick Ben, Kecha Khamphakdee, and Sunil Rodrigues won the Best Action award for "Jawan".

Best VFX: Red Chillies VFX was recognized for their work in "Jawan".

Best Choreography: Ganesh Acharya won the Best Choreography award for the song "What Jhumka?" from "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani".

Best Debut Director: Tarun Dudeja won the Best Debut Director award for his remarkable debut with "Dhak Dhak".

Best Debut Male: Aditya Rawal was recognized as the Best Debut Male for his performance in "Faraaz".
