Re-examination results for NEET-UG: Toppers’ count drops to 61 from 67

According to a recent report from the National Testing Agency (NTA), none of the 813 students who retook the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) on June 23 received full marks. As a result, the number of toppers has decreased from 67 to 61. A re-examination was given to students. Those who were initially given grace marks for time lost during their original May 5 exam.

Late Sunday night, the NTA announced the retest findings. They had scheduled a re-examination for 1,563 students. These students were previously given grace marks. On May 5, the applicants faced disturbances during their exam. Out of 1563 qualified students, 813 took the re-examination at seven centres. located in Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana and Meghalaya.

Students who choose not to retest will keep their original scores, with no additional grace marks. Among the 813 individuals who retook the exam, six from a Haryana centre had previously scored a perfect 720 out of 720. None of these students received full marks on re-examination. According to a government official, the official number of toppers has dropped from 67 to 61.

NTA Notification: Amended NEET-UG 2024 Score Cards

According to the NTA’s notification. “It is now announced that all NEET(UG) 2024 candidates will receive amended score cards. This includes 1563 candidates who took the Re-Test on June 23, 2024. are being hosted on the website (https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/). Candidates can log on to the internet and examine, download, and print their amended score cards.”
