The curriculum for bagless days is organized around three major themes, each designed to broaden students' horizons and enrich their learning experiences:

    • Students will engage in activities such as researching plants and birds, testing water and soil, and visiting facilities that focus on biogas and solar energy.
    • The curriculum includes talks on contemporary topics like robotics, cyber security, data science, and artificial intelligence, as well as practical lessons on drone operation and waste management.
  2. Contact with Local Industry, Business, and Public Offices:
    • Students will have the chance to visit various local institutions, including banks, post offices, hospitals, dairy farms, panchayat offices, and construction sites. These visits provide insights into the functioning of different sectors and the roles of various professionals.
  3. Connection with History, Culture, and the Arts:
    • The program includes activities such as drama, dance, doodling, and puppetry. Students will also visit book fairs and historical landmarks, including the Sanchi Stupa and national monuments like the Statue of Unity, to deepen their understanding of history and culture.

Implementation and Impact

According to the guidelines, students should dedicate at least 10 days or 60 hours of their annual 1,000-hour school schedule to these bagless days. This flexibility allows teachers to integrate these days into the academic calendar in a way that complements the existing curriculum.

A pilot study conducted by the PSS Central Institute of Vocational Education in various states demonstrated a positive impact on students' motivation to acquire vocational skills. The trial revealed that students showed increased enthusiasm for learning and a better understanding of the practical applications of their education.

The introduction of bagless days represents a significant shift in educational practices.
