It is quite obvious for people to question the government especially after such large amounts of app bans that have been proposed on the digital platforms which either were a source of entertainment/utility for some and made careers for others.

But here are the reasons which we all must know in case we have any second thoughts over the government’s decision of app bans:

• We all know the Indian forces are currently head to head against China in Ladakh. The Chinese Army (PLA) gets huge fund by organizations like Tik Tok, Tencent, SheIn because apart from hefty amounts of taxes, it is almost mandatory for Chinese businessmen to donate to the country in order to grow.

• Every money you spent on these apps not only funded China but helped them kill our soldiers. Every bullet was literally bought by your hard-earned money to be used indirectly against you.

• Yes, a few people did get jobs (0.5% users) but for the remaining 99.5% people, it became an addiction, waste of mind and just a source of entertainment. The youth had become so much indulged itself into the virtual world that it had almost forgotten the reality.

• Within mere 2-3 years, the apps grabbed so much clout that it almost remotely controlled Indian youth directly from China. Not only health problems but it was also leading towards mental health as well because due to the lockdown the youth had literally started spending 70% time them.

• Considering the people who used it merely a source of entertainment, you have several alternatives for PUBG like Free-Fire or Call of Duty and Instagram reels instead of Tik Tok.

• The total amount of loss faced by China over the past few months due to app bans is estimated over $100 billion (10,000 crores) while within one day of ban, Tencent already lost $14 billion (1,400 crores). If this isn’t win, what is?

It is our right to criticize the Government when it does something wrong or even protest against their decisions but when China is straight-up hurting India’s integrity and sovereignty, killing our soldiers by our own money, can’t the country’s youth even leave a few internet addictions for it?
