On Thursday Chinese Ambassador Xu Feihong expressed China's openness to welcoming Indian businesses into its market. He expressed hope that India would create an environment for Chinese companies operating there. This statement comes amidst ongoing tensions between the two countries over border disputes, in Ladakh.

Xu once underlined the importance of teamwork. He urged both countries to view each other's growth and strategic goals positively and to resolve disagreements via open dialogue. Although he did not address the standoff directly, he underlined the necessity of avoiding situations that impede teamwork. Xu also urged India to resume flights and ease visa procedures for anyone affected by the border violence. India has repeatedly stated that repairing relations with China hinges on restoring peace along the border.

Amongst persistent hostilities, the two countries' trading connections are thriving. China has become India's largest trading partner in the last year, with a trade volume of $136.2 billion. Xu stated that since last year, the Chinese Embassy and consulates in India have issued over 400,000 visas to Indian citizens, boosting interaction and collaboration. He underlined China's desire to develop ties with India in fields such as science, technology, education, culture, and tourism.

Xu urged India to take steps to restore flights and make visa procedures easier for its citizens. These remarks come as the Indian government looks into Chinese companies' operations in India following a border dispute. Nonetheless, Xu emphasized China's aim to increase Indian exports and investments in China, highlighting the importance of improving bilateral economic ties.
