The Budget Session of the Parliament will begin today with an address by President Droupadi Murmu. She will speak to the members of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha in a joint sitting. This address marks the official beginning of the session.

After her speech, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey in both Houses of Parliament. The Economic Survey is a key document that gives a detailed review of how India's economy has performed in the ongoing financial year. It is prepared by a team led by Chief Economic Adviser V. Anantha Nageswaran. The survey also highlights challenges and provides a roadmap for reforms and growth in different sectors.

Budget to be presented on Saturday

On Saturday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the first full budget of the Modi 3.0 government. Many people expect that there may be changes in the income tax slabs. This budget will set the financial direction for the country and decide how money will be allocated to different sectors.

The first part of the budget session will last until February 13. After that, Parliament will take a break so that members can carefully study the budget proposals. The session will start again on March 10 and continue until April 4. In total, Parliament will meet 27 times during the entire session.

During this time, members will also discuss the President’s speech. In the Lok Sabha (lower house), discussions on the President’s address will happen on February 3 and 4. In the Rajya Sabha (upper house), the debate will continue for three days.

This budget session is crucial as it will set the economic agenda for the country in the coming months.
