Chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, has expressed his optimism regarding the growth of the Indian economy. According to a report by PTI, he predicts that the nation's economy will rise from the current $3.5 trillion to an astonishing $40 trillion by 2047.
"India, as the world's third-largest energy consumer, will see its energy needs double by the end of this decade," Ambani said. He continued, "The country will need enormous amounts of energy - clean, green energy that won't choke mother nature for the sake of human progress."
Ambani made this statement at the convocation of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) in Gujarat's Gandhinagar, expressing his belief that India will witness a huge increase in economic growth within the next 25 years. He sees this as a grand opportunity for India to lead the way in clean, green, and sustainable progress.
"In the coming 25 years, we will see an unprecedented explosion of economic growth. This period is a crucible for transforming the vision of a clean, green, and sustainable future into reality," Ambani said.
As India gears up to construct a solid energy framework to meet its growing energy goals, it is faced with a unique three-part challenge. Ambani calls this the "Energy Trilemma". He questioned:
- How can India ensure every citizen and economic activity has access to adequate and affordable energy?
- How can the country transition swiftly from fossil fuel-based energy to clean and green energy?
- How can India shield its fast-expanding economic needs from an unpredictable external environment?
Ambani, the richest man in the nation, voiced his belief that resolving the aforementioned energy trilemma is the single most essential factor for turning India into a world leader in green and sustainable development.
"They will design breakthrough energy solutions to build not just a strong and Atmanirbhar India, but also a safer and healthier planet," Ambani said, expressing his confidence in the country's ability to come up with smart sustainable solutions.
He further encouraged students to have faith in their capabilities and to be fearless in their pursuit of solutions. He said, "Courage is the ship that can safely sail you across the stormiest seas. You will commit mistakes. But let that not worry or deter you."
Leaving his audience with a resonating message, he concluded by saying, "I am what I am in life because of India, because of Bharat. Wherever your life takes you, contribute your utmost to the greatness and glory of India."
