In a clash between terrorists and Security forces in JK Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday (24 July), a terrorist was neutralised and an Army soldier was injured. On Tuesday, July 23, the Indian Army and the J&K police together initiated an operation in response to specific information that there were terrorists in the Kowut region of Kupwara.
"On July 24, troops noticed suspicious activity and confronted the terrorists, who then opened fire without warning. One terrorist has been eliminated and an NCO has been hurt in the subsequent firefight. In a statement," the Indian Army stated that the operation was underway. There have been other terrorist strikes in the area before this one.
Lance Naik Subash Chander lost his life in a fierce battle with terrorists earlier on Tuesday, July 23, when the army stopped an attempt to infiltrate at the LoC in J&K.
In the Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces prevented two terror assaults that were aimed at an Army station and the home of a Village Defence Group (VDG) member, resulting in the injuries of a soldier and a civilian earlier on Monday, July 22.
Following sporadic gunfire exchanges with terrorists throughout the day, the officials stated that the area was sealed off by a combined team of the Army, police, CRPF, and VDGs. It is said that three militants from Pakistan assaulted the Army camp.
The VDG member who had just been awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his anti-terror activities in the same region in 2023 lived close to the camp. In the Gundha neighborhood of Khawas tehsil, the terrorists initially opened fire on the home of the VDG member. When security guards arrived, they threw grenades. Another wave of gunfire broke out at 4 am as the militants targeted a recently erected Army station. The wounded soldier was sent to the hospital together with the civilian.
It is alleged that a terrorist was killed, but the body has not yet been found. Two terrorists were killed as security forces stopped an attempt to infiltrate at the Keran sector's Line of Control earlier on July 19. Meanwhile, Two troops were hurt in a different incident in the Doda district's Kastigarh region.
The terror event that occurred in Rajouri on Monday was the 14th to occur in the Jammu area. Ten security guards and nine pilgrims have died as a consequence of these attacks, while 58 more people have been injured. During these clashes, five terrorists were neutralized by security personnel.
