A chilling video from Uttar Pradesh's Deoria has gone viral online, featuring a man being stripped and beaten mercilessly with a belt on suspicion of mobile snatching. The video, which went viral instantly, was initially posted as an Instagram Story by Priyanshu Singh, a man who was identified.

The video contains a text in Hindi that reads, "Waapas aa rahe hain apne andaaz me, log bhool gae hain hamein"—which translates to, "We are coming back in our style; people have forgotten us." The footage shows the victim lying half-naked on a sofa while another man sits on his face. Meanwhile, another individual relentlessly lashes him with a belt, all while recording the incident on a mobile phone.

During the assault, the victim tries to pull up his pants, but the man holding him down intensely holds him back, while the other continues to abuse him. The incident on video has set off fury on social media, which prompted the police to act quickly.

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the assault. "One person, Rohit Srivastava, son of Ashok Lal Srivastava, resident of Hariya Ward Number 5, Salempur, Deoria, has been taken into custody and is being interrogated," confirmed Deoria Police in a statement.

The police have also named the second accused, Priyanshu Singh, who is the son of Dhananjay Singh and a resident of Dehri in the Mail police station area. He is being searched by the officers, and other legal proceedings are ongoing.
