A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by two men near Godown Street in the K.R. Market area in Bengaluru.

The incident happened when she was near the KR Market bus station, looking to head to her brother’s place in Yelahanka. 

These men, pretended to offer her a ride, only to take her to a secluded location where they raped her. During the attack, they also robbed her of her cash, phone, and jewelry.

Following the incident, a case was registered at the Women’s Police Station in Bengaluru Central Division. 

 Authorities have collected CCTV footage from the area and launched an extensive search for the suspects, leading to the detention of one individual in connection with the incident. The police are questioning him to gather further information.

The accused have been identified as Saravana and Ganesh and further investigation is ongoing, as the authorities are committed to ensuring justice is served.

BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra slammed the Congress-led government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. “Karnataka has turned into a haven for robbers and rapists,” he stated.
