Solapur police have arrested three thieves who tried to outsmart law enforcement by learning tricks from crime TV shows like Crime Patrol and Savadhan India. The police have recovered valuables worth Rs 9.44 lakh, including a car, from the accused. The three men, originally from Rajasthan, were involved in multiple thefts across different cities. Their arrest has helped the police solve six theft cases.

Thieves used TV shows to plan crimes

Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Dipali Kale gave details about the case. The arrested men are Manakchand Budharamji Kumawat (35), Bhundaram alias Babu Karanamji Kumawat (38), and Ganpat Bagdaramji Kumawat (41). They all come from Birol in Rajasthan.

Reports say they started stealing because they were struggling with money. Their first big theft happened in Hyderabad, where the police caught them. However, they got bail and were released within a few days. After that, they decided to change their ways to avoid getting caught again.

Smart tricks to avoid getting caught

The thieves started watching crime TV shows to understand how the police investigate cases. They used this knowledge to change how they carried out their crimes.

To avoid getting caught, they did not use mobile phones, so the police could not track them. They also avoided toll booths while entering cities to leave no digital records. Instead, they used Google Maps to find busy markets where they could steal.

The gang stayed in nearby lodges, watched their targets during the day, and broke into shops at midnight. They used iron bars to open shop shutters and stole valuables without leaving any clues. They committed thefts in different cities, including Solapur, Chandrapur, Latur, and Sangli.

Police trap and arrest the thieves

Assistant Police Inspector Sanjay Kshirsagar from the Crime Branch got information about three suspects travelling in a car without a number plate in Karnik Nagar, Solapur. The police quickly set a trap and caught them.

When the police questioned them, the thieves admitted to their crimes. They also confessed that they had learnt tricks from crime TV shows to avoid getting caught.

Their arrest has brought relief to the cities where they committed thefts. The police have asked the public to stay alert and be careful about such criminal activities.
