A restaurant owner in Greater Noida was killed by the delivery agent of online food platform Swiggy allegedly over delay in getting an order ready.

The delivery man reportedly reached the restaurant at 12:15 am to collect the order of chicken biryani and poori sabzi. While the biryani was ready on time, the delivery agent was told by a worker that the other order would take a little more time.

After waiting for a few minutes, the delivery boy got angry following which there was a heated argument between him and workers of the food outlet.

When the owner Sunil Agarwal tried to stop the two from fighting, the delivery boy suddenly pulled out a gun and fired at the owner and fled from the spot. with the help of his friend.

The police said that the deceased Sunil ran an online food delivery outlet at a housing society. He was rushed to Yatharth Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, reports said.

According to the police, the eyewitnesses said the accused was under the influence of alcohol. He was accompanied by another man who helped in the killing of the restaurant owner.

The police are searching for the delivery boy with the help of footage from CCTV installed near the spot. The accused would be arrested soon, the police said.
