On Sunday, July 7, a speeding BMW struck a couple riding a two-wheeler in Worli, Mumbai, tragically killing the woman in the hit-and-run.

A story in The New Indian Express claimed that the woman was hauled 100 meters by the fancy vehicle.

According to the Mumbai Police, the woman and her husband were on their way home from Sassoon Dock when the disaster happened, having gone fishing.

A fast BMW struck their bike from behind at approximately 5:30 in the morning near Atria Mall. The pair was knocked off the bike by the accident and ended up landing on the luxury car's hood.

The woman, named as Kaveri Nakawa, was carried for 100 meters while her husband was able to leap off the driving automobile.

The woman was pronounced dead when they arrived at the hospital after onlookers hurried the pair there. Right now, the spouse is in therapy.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde called the situation "very unfortunate" and promised an unbiased investigation.

It is regrettable that a hit-and-run event occurred in Mumbai. I've talked to the police, and they promise to follow the law and take harsh action. "All individuals will receive equal treatment," he said to the press.

The same article claims that the vehicle was driven by Rajesh Shah's son, Mihir Shah, and that Shah is the head of the Shiv Sena group led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Shinde.

Rajesh Shah has been arrested by the police as a result. Rajrishi Bidawat, Rajesh Shah's driver, has also been taken into custody.

Aditya Thackeray, the head of the Shiv Sena (UBT), met with the victim's spouse at the Worli Police Station in the interim. In order to guarantee severe action in hit-and-run situations, he suggested that the accused be arrested immediately and that politics be put aside.

“Visited the Worli Police Station today and met with senior police officers investigating the hit-and-run case that occurred in Worli today. I will not go into the political leanings of Mr. Shah, the accused of the hit-and-run, but I hope the police will act swiftly to catch the accused and bring him to justice. Hopefully, there will be no political refuge by the regime," he wrote on X.

This incident occurred less than two months after a young couple lost their lives in a similar hit-and-run case involving a minor in Pune.
