A shocking case of animal cruelty has come to light from Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan, where more than 25 stray dogs were brutally killed. The incident happened on August 2nd and 3rd in Kumawas village, located in the Nawalgarh area. It was discovered after a disturbing video of the incident went viral on social media, which led to police action.

In the video, a man can be seen walking around with a gun and shooting dogs on sight. The video also showed the blood-soaked bodies of the dogs lying across the village.

After the video went viral, police quickly responded on August 4. Head Constable Shubhkaran was sent to Kumawas village to investigate the matter.

Police have identified the main accused as Shyochand Bawariya, son of Surajaram Bawariya, a resident of Dumra village. A case has been registered against him. Police have said that arrests will be made soon and the investigation is ongoing.

Saroj Jhanjariya, the former sarpanch of Hamiri Kalan village, also filed a detailed complaint with the Superintendent of Police. She said, “Shyochand has mercilessly killed 25 dogs over the past few days.”

She also rejected Shyochand’s claim that the dogs had killed his goats. According to her, “The dogs had neither harmed anyone nor killed any livestock.” She accused him and his associates of using the “dead goats” excuse to ask for compensation and said it showed “their malicious intent”.

Jhanjariya believes this may be a planned act, noting that the same group had come to the village five months earlier in a similar situation.
