An Ola driver helped get three criminals arrested after they tried to book a cab to dump the dead body of their sister-in-law. The cab driver who was hired from Noida alerted the police after noticing blood stains on a sack that had the victim's body. The woman, Kusum Kumari, was killed by her two relatives over a dispute for an ancestral property worth ₹40 crores.
The accused, the woman's brother-in-law, and his relative booked an Ola from Noida to Maharajpur, Kanpur on the 11th of July. They planned to dispose of the body but the driver noticed something was wrong and saw blood dripping from the sacks while he was helping them load the sacks in the boot of his car. He then refused to take the ride and the two men started abusing him. Following this incident, the driver escaped and alerted a policeman deployed on the highway. He also went to Maharajpur Police.
When the police started investigating, they revealed that the victim Kusum, and her brother-in-law, Saurabh were missing from a nearby village. Saurabh already called his partner in Maharajpur to kill Kusum. After questioning the relatives, police found Kusum's body in Fatehpur on Sunday and concluded a post-mortem on Monday.
Police arrested three people on charge of Kusum's murder and the hunt for the other remaining accused is ongoing, according to the police.
