According to police, two males were taken into custody on Sunday for allegedly peddling spit-tainted juice.

According to them, the purported event happened on Saturday night at a juice stand close to Garhi Chaukhandi village in Sector 121 when Satish Bhatia, a local, went there to get juice.

"An FIR was lodged at the local phase 3 police station on Sunday morning and later in the day both the accused -- Jamshed (30) and Sonu alias Sahabe Alam -- were taken into police custody," a police spokesperson said.

According to the spokesman, the defendants were charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) under sections 153A(1)(b) (disturbing public tranquilly), 270 (malignant act of spreading infection of illness hazardous to life), and 34 (acts done by multiple persons in furtherance of same intention).

The official went on, "More appropriate legal action has been initiated against the accused in the case."

This is not the first instance of spitting contaminating something. It was discovered in thousands of news reports during the Corona period that certain low-level antisocial individuals had attempted to spit on fruits and vegetables in order to spread the corona virus. Although the reasoning behind this is hard to explain, it is crucial to find the answer.
