A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Mumbai’s Govandi area on January 2, when a five-year-old girl was severely injured after being assaulted by a woman neighbor with a hot iron rod. The child had been left in the care of a neighboring man while her parents were at work. However, the situation took a horrifying turn when the girl was handed over to the woman, who is now facing charges.

According to reports, it happened after this woman found her pet cat to be hidden away by the child. Angered by this move, the angry woman hit this child on the head with a very hot iron rod and then put the iron inside her leg, burning it away.

The horrific injuries were noticed by the first neighbor, who immediately alerted the authorities. The police were quick to respond and confirmed that the accused woman had been a resident in the area for the past six years. After a police complaint, the woman was arrested.

The woman now faces serious charges, including Section 118(1) of the Bombay Nursing Homes Registration Act and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. Authorities have expressed their shock at the brutality of the crime and assured that further investigation will follow.

The little girl’s condition is still being monitored as she recovers from the traumatic ordeal.
