Police said on Sunday that the accused, Arjun Shavtal from Assam, was arrested, and the knife used in the crime was also recovered.
According to news agency PTI, Shavtal and the 26-year-old victim, Dalip Kumar, both worked as housekeeping staff at Hello Guest House in Gurugram Sector 53. Police were informed about the stabbing on Saturday evening and quickly sent a team to the scene, along with a dog squad and forensic experts.
A police officer stated that an FIR was filed based on a complaint lodged by the victim's brother. During questioning, Shavtal admitted that Kumar, who was from Bihar, frequently criticized his work, threatened him, and even physically assaulted him, which led to the 22-year-old holding a grudge against the victim.
The accused confessed to the police that he was driven to the act by constant criticism from his colleague. He stated that he retrieved a knife from the kitchen and used it to fatally stab the victim. Further investigation into this tragic incident is currently underway by the police.
