In a significant drug bust, Gujarat's law enforcement agencies, including the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Special Operations Group (SOG), have made a noteworthy seizure of cocaine near Gandhidham in the Kutch district, uncovering thirteen unclaimed packets of the drug. Drugs worth approximately Rs 130 crore in the international market, were found in the creek area close to Mithi Rohar village.
Superintendent of Police Sagar Bagmar uncovered that this is the second major cocaine haul in the region within eight months, indicating a persistent challenge in curbing drug trafficking. "A joint team of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the Special Operations Group recovered 13 unclaimed packets of cocaine valued at Rs 130 crore from the creek area passing from Mithi Rohar village near Gandhidham town," Bagmar stated. This latest operation highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat illicit drug trade, particularly in areas prone to such activities.
Drug Bust Uncovers Major Cocaine Haul in Gandhidham
Sunil Joshi, Superintendent of Police, ATS, granted additional details, confirming the recovery of 13 one-kilogram packets of cocaine during the early hours of the operation. He remarked, "We have initiated legal proceedings against unidentified individuals, and our investigation is ongoing."
This recent operation is like an incident from September last year, where the Kutch-East police seized 80 unclaimed packets of cocaine collectively valued at Rs 800 crore from the same area.
This successful operation highlights the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking activities in the region.
