If the charges are true...punishment should happen in accordance with law. There is no compromise. If Prajwal Revanna is wrong, our family is in agreement for action to be taken against him.”

The Karnataka Police on Sunday registered a case against Prajwal Revanna and HD Revanna for charges including sexual harassment and criminal intimidation. The decision was taken when a complaint was made by a lady who used to work in their home and the video clips emerged in social media just after the elections held in his constituency.

Pen drives with videos supposedly showing Prajwal Revanna having sex with several women, and with them, a lot of allegations of abuse are emerging. The government officials from Karnataka disclosed that a pen drive circulated in Hassan had 2,976 video clips, ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes. Preliminary investigations show that the videos were mostly created using a mobile phone at locations in Bengaluru and Hassan after 2019.

The victim accused Prajwal and claimed that she had been sexually assaulted over the three years of 2019, 2020, 2021 respectively. Furthermore, she accused Prajwal Revanna of engaging in inappropriate talk with her daughter during a video chat and he added up to use "abusive language" with her. The woman in question also implicated Prajwal's father, HD Revanna, who is allegedly responsible for sexually harassing her whenever his wife was not home.

Prajwal has refuted the accusations and lodged a complaint asserting that the circulated videos have been manipulated. Following the emergence of the videos online, the 33-year-old departed for Germany on Saturday morning.HD Revanna (father of Prajwal), who is also implicated in the case, serves as an MLA representing the Holenarasipur constituency. He has also alleged that political opponents are fabricating a conspiracy using "old videos."

The Congress has accused the BJP of facilitating Prajwal Revanna's departure, labeling it as an "escape." Ajoy Kumar, a senior Congress leader said “Revanna left India shortly after several sex scandal videos recorded by him surfaced”.

However, Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra countered these allegations, stating that his party bears no responsibility for the sexual abuse accusations against the NDA candidate. He emphasized that the legal process will unfold independently. Vijayendra criticized the ruling Congress in Karnataka for engaging in what he described as "dirty politics" by targeting the BJP regarding this matter.

The Karnataka government has established a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the case involving obscene videos. This decision was made following a recommendation from the state women's commission to the Siddaramaiah government to take appropriate action.Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara announced that Prajwal will be summoned back to India by the SIT for questioning.
