A Hyderabad man is said to have killed his wife and then tried to hide the crime horribly. Reportedly, after his wife Venkata Madhavi went missing, 45-year-old Guru Murthy confessed to the crime and the police are currently looking into his claims.

The accused, Guru Murthy, is a former military officer now employed as a DRDO security guard. Venkata Madhavi, his wife, was 35 years old. Together, they have two kids, a daughter and a son.

On January 16, Venkata Madhavi was reported missing by her family. When the police started looking into the case, they grew suspicious of Guru Murthy’s behavior. He supposedly confessed to murdering his wife under interrogation and said what he did afterward.

According to a Times of India report, Guru Murthy claimed he chopped his wife’s body into pieces in the bathroom.  He then boiled the body parts in a pressure cooker to remove the flesh from the bones. After separating the bones, he ground them using a pestle and boiled them again. Over the course of three days, he reportedly cooked the remains repeatedly before packing them up and dumping them into Meerpet Lake.

The reason behind it is still not clear. Reports show that the pair frequently fought, but it is not yet known what led to this extreme act.

The police are now verifying Guru Murthy’s claims and continuing their investigation. They are collecting evidence and investigating to uncover what truly happened.
