Bihar nurse defends herself by severing doctor’s private part amid gang rape attempt
The woman was subsequently able to flee the healthcare facility and take refuge in a field where she called the police.
In a report published by India Today, three men from different districts of Bihar – Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sanju from Begusarai, Sunil Kumar Gupta from Vaishali, and Awadhesh Kumar from Mangra—have been accused of trying to molest a Bihar nurse in a healthcare centre. Apparently, the three men were drunk and started pestering the woman who was working at the joint. When the Bihar nurse was attacked by Dr. Sanju with the intention to rape her, she managed to cut him with a surgical blade.
The woman was subsequently able to flee the healthcare facility and take refuge in a field where she called the police. A team led by SP Vinay Tiwari arrested Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sanju and his associates soon at the hospital. The doctor who was injured during attack is now recieving treatment.
Police later recovered blood-stained bed sheets , mobile phones, and alcohol bottles from the scene, discovering that the hospital’s CCTV cameras had been disabled. The nurse, who had worked there for 10 to 15 months, informed authorities that she used the surgical blade in self-defense during the assault.
This incident comes just weeks after another shocking case where a doctor was found raped and murdered in the seminar hall of a state-run hospital in Kolkata. In that case, a civil volunteer named Sanjay Roy allegedly entered the room at 4:03 a.m. and carried out the attack while the victim was asleep. The police then recovered blood-stained bed sheets, mobile phones and alcohol bottles from the scene; more so, the police also confirmed that the CCTV cameras in the hospital had been disconnected. From the interview, the nurse who has been working at the center for about 10-15 months had stated that she had used the surgical blade in order to fend off the attack.
This is one of the recent incidents which occurred shortly after another spine chilling incidence where a doctor was brutally raped and then murdered in a seminar hall of a state founded hospital at Kolkata. In that case, there was an intruder , civil volunteer Sanjay Roy, who sneaked into the room according to news, he climbed over the wall and entered the room at 4:30am then molested the victim while she was asleep.
