The Bengaluru police seized a massive shipment of 318 kilograms of cannabis, also known as ganja, valued at Rs 3.25 crore. The Govindapura police arrested three people after receiving a tip-off. They were caught transporting drugs in a car, which was seized as evidence.

The investigation disclosed that the prime accused is from Kerala and has a history of drug trafficking with several ongoing cases in his native state. Officials believe the ganja was being smuggled into Bengaluru for illegal sales during the New Year celebrations when the demand for drugs usually increases.

During a major operation at the city's Foreign Post Office, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) Narcotics Control Unit in Bengaluru confiscated a massive amount of drugs worth Rs 21.17 crore.

The unit, in collaboration with Customs officials, seized 606 parcels filled with illegal substances. After inspecting over 3,500 suspicious parcels, authorities seized drugs smuggled from countries such as the US, UK, Belgium, Thailand, and the Netherlands.

The seized parcels consist of drugs like LSD, hydro ganja, MDMA crystals, ecstasy tablets, heroin, cocaine, amphetamine, ganja oil and charas. It was found that the accused had been importing these substances through the Indian Postal Service to sell at higher prices in Bengaluru. The CCB Narcotics Unit had already registered 12 cases this year and arrested several people linked to similar drug trafficking activities.
