Nikita Singhania, who was arrested for her husband's suicide, tried to escape from the police for several days before they caught her. Her husband, Atul, took his own life last week and left behind a note and a video. In these, he said that he had been troubled and harassed by Nikita and her family.
Nikita's attempt to avoid arrest
Nikita, according to the police, used WhatsApp calls to avoid being found by the authorities and changed her location every day to stay hidden. She did not use regular phone calls or other methods to communicate. When the police tried to find her, they discovered she had locked her house in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, to escape them. The police then put up notices at her house, asking her to come forward within three days.
How Nikita was caught
Even though Nikita tried to stay hidden, she made a big mistake. She called a relative on the phone, which revealed her location. The police used the phone signal to track her down. They found her hiding in a guesthouse in the Rail Vihar area of Gurugram, Haryana. After her arrest, the police questioned her and made her call her mother and brother. Both of them were also arrested in Jhunsi, Uttar Pradesh.
The police questioned Nikita, her mother, and her brother for several hours while they were being taken to Bengaluru. Meanwhile, Nikita’s two-year-old son was safely given to a relative. The investigation is still ongoing, and the family is facing charges related to the sad death of Atul Subhash.
