Actor Nagabhushana arrested after his car hits a couple, woman dies

A 48-year-old woman was murdered and her husband was seriously wounded after a couple was reportedly knocked down by well-known Kannada actor Nagabhushana NS. The actor was granted a station bail release.

On Vasanthapura Main Road in Uttarahalli, the event happened on Saturday evening next to the Suprabhatha Breeze apartment complex. Prema, a housewife, was the deceased; Krishna B, her 58-year-old husband, was seriously hurt in the event.

According to the authorities, the accident happened at 9:30 PM when the couple was taking a stroll outside of their residence. The actor reportedly lost control of the automobile he was driving and drove into the couple before crashing into an electric pole. While being taken to the hospital, the woman passed away.

Deputy Commissioner of Police for Traffic (South), Shiva Prakash Devaraju, said that Nagabhushana, a 37-year-old inhabitant of JP Nagar, was traveling from Uttarahalli to Konanakunte Cross in a car. “The event happened as a result of hasty and careless driving. There was a speed breaker there, but the driver did not slow down and crashed into an electric pole after hitting the pair. The actor was granted a station bail release.

The pair had traveled from Mandya 15 days prior to visit their son, a software engineer who works in the city, according to the police. Krishna, a driver for a private company, is now receiving treatment at a private hospital on Bannerghatta Road and is said to be in severe condition. He suffered head, abdominal, and leg injuries.

The actor has been charged with multiple IPC violations by the Kumaraswamy Layout traffic police. Nagabhushana has had minor roles in a number of Kannada films, but his breakthrough performance came in the film “Badava Rascal,” in which he co-starred with well-known actor Dhananjaya, also known by the stage name Dolly Dhananjaya.

Indian film actor Nagabhushana N S, popularly known as Nagabhushana, has primarily worked in the Kannada cinema industry. Sankashta Kara Ganapathi, a Kannada movie, served as Nagabhushana’s feature film debut.

Nagabhushan is an actor whose career began when he joined GPIER, a community theater company started by Mime Ramesh, a Rangayana performer. Before quitting to pursue a career in acting, he worked for the government. In order to use humor to address societal issues, he and his undergraduate mates founded the YouTube channel Karnataka Entertainment Board in 2016. For several of the programs that were broadcast on the channel, he also performed, directed, and authored the scripts.

More than 350,000 people have seen an episode of “Lucia Pawan Has HFPS Disease” on YouTube, in which Pawan Kumar played a patient with social media addiction. After making his acting debut in Badmaash (2016), he played Likith Shetty’s companion in Sankashta Kara Ganapathi (2018).

“Nagabhushan as Likith’s best buddy is a hoot and is another show stealer,” a critic from The Times of India said. In the online series Honeymoon, which he also co-starred in as an actor alongside Sanjana Aanand, he penned the script. The web series’ episodes were initially made available in Telugu on the Aha streaming service and afterwards on Voot.

He also played the lead in Ikkat, a comedy film about a married couple’s tribulations during the Covid-19-related forced lockdown. On July 21, 2021, the Ikkat movie had its Amazon Prime Video debut and received largely favorable reviews from reviewers.  According to a review of the movie Ikkat, Nagabhushan “pulls off a superb hilarious act with a terrific blend of dialogues and expressions”
