An 8-year-old girl from Andhra Pradesh's Nandyal district was allegedly gang-raped by three of her school seniors who were also minors, who later killed and dumped her body in the Mucchumarri Lift Irrigation canal to destroy evidence, on Sunday, July 7th, 2024, at around 5 pm, when the girl was playing in a park.

According to the official, two of the accused are fifteen years old, while the other is twelve. The victim's corpse has not yet been located, despite the police having arrested the youngsters. The victim, a third-class student, had vanished on Sunday. She traveled more than 300 kilometers from Andhra Pradesh to Machumarri on July 7 to play at a park. The father of the young victim had reported his daughter missing to the local police station when she did not return until late in the evening.

The police quickly moved to search. In an attempt to locate the missing girl, they also asked locals for leads, but they were unable to do so. Since the girl was nowhere to be found, the dog squad was called in by the police. The police then utilized the sniffer dog to locate the suspect.

Police said on Wednesday that the dog guided them to the location of the incident and then made a stop at each of the three accused people's homes. The three were taken into custody and looked into. According to the authorities, all three of the students acknowledged raping and killing the girl during their interrogation. The three guys admitted to the authorities that they had seen the girl playing close to Muchumarri Park.

"They (boys) molested and pushed her into the canal…They were all from Mucchumarri village and everybody knew each other," Nandyal district superintendent of police K Raghuveera Reddy told PTI.

The lads stated they talked her into playing with them since she recognized them from their faces. After that, they raped her alternately while gagging her in a remote area close to the Muchumarri irrigation project.

The lads killed her after performing the horrible act because they were afraid of being imprisoned if the girl told her parents that she had been raped, according to Sub-Inspector Jayshekhar of the Muchumarri police station. This is why they are still investigating the case as a missing person.
