The CCB arrested five suspects in Bengaluru for planning explosions and attacks in the city. One of the arrested is linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) said Bengaluru Police Commissioner. The accused were identified as Sohail, Umar, Jahid, Junaid, and Mudasir. Seven pistols, a walkie-talkie, and many live bullets along with their mobiles were seized. The CCB was looking for five more people who were allegedly involved in the planning as more investigations were being conducted.

The five suspects who were arrested, according to the police, were also involved in a 2017 murder investigation. They were detained at Bangalore Central Jail, where they interacted with some terrorists and received explosives handling instructions. The CCB was informed of the accused's plot to detonate bombs throughout the city, which led to their arrest.

The Bengaluru Police later revealed during a press conference that one of the apprehended suspects had already served 18 months in prison for a 2017 murder case. He interacted with some criminals when he was in jail. B Dayananda, Police Commissioner Bengaluru addressed the media saying, "The serial blasts accused is linked to terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. The CCB succeeded in tracking down those who planned to commit acts of vandalism in Bengaluru city."

Basavaraj Bommai, former chief minister of Karnataka, supported the CCB and praised the team's work. The chief minister added that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) should be given the matter. Additionally criticising the state's current Congress administration, Bommai said that law and order had completely collapsed in the state. Bommai said, "There is a big conspiracy. They wanted to do serial bomb blasts in Bengaluru. This case should be handed over to NIA."
