Two men were arrested in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district after police found a pick-up truck carrying a huge amount of explosive material. The truck was stopped during a police blockade, and officers discovered over 100 cartons filled with gelatin sticks and detonators. Police say the explosives could cause major damage in a wide area.
According to officials, the police team acted on a tip-off and stopped the truck at Trinetra Circle. During the check, they found 981 gelatin sticks, 93 detonators, and a safety fuse.
The two men in the truck, Bhagwat Singh and Himmat Singh, both from Rajasthan, could not show the required documents for carrying such material. Police then seized the vehicle and arrested both men.
Officers said a case has been filed and an investigation has begun to find out more details about the transport of the explosives.
Shipra Rajawat, Deputy Superintendent of Police in Nathdwara, said, "Based on an informant's inputs, police set up a blockade and stopped the pick-up truck. A total of 100 cartons of explosive material containing 981 shells, 93 detonators, and a 30-foot safety fuse were found. The driver and his associate were unable to provide the mandatory documents required for transporting explosives. They have been arrested, and the truck seized."
