OYO, the global travel tech platform, has officially announced the grand opening of its first luxury hotel in Dubai, the new establishment named Palette Royal Reflections Hotel and Spa. This new addition marks a substantial step for the company as it aims to cater to the increasing number of Indian tourists visiting the city.

The timing of this launch is strategic, coinciding with Dubai’s recent relaxation of visa rules for Indian travelers, which is expected to lead to a significant rise in visitors from India in 2024. “OYO is expecting more than 1 lakh Indian tourists to visit Dubai this year. Dubai has long been a favorite destination for Indian travelers, thanks to its luxury shopping, stunning architecture, and vibrant culture. The launch comes as the emirate prepares to welcome a record number of Indian tourists in 2024,” the company said in a statement.

This luxury hotel opening is a key part of OYO’s strategy as it prepares for its upcoming initial public offering (IPO). By adding high-end properties like this one, OYO is strengthening its premium portfolio on a global scale, with a particular focus on the Middle East.

Meeting Indian Tourists' Needs with Dubai's First Luxury Hotel

OYO’s presence in the UAE is already substantial, with over 700 properties, including more than 200 in Dubai alone. Nitin Gupta, Business Head for OYO in the Middle East, emphasized the increasing demand for luxury accommodations from Indian tourists, stating, “We have been seeing a surge in the number of Indian tourists asking for luxury accommodations in the region. OYO plans to meet the requirements of tourists visiting Dubai through this initiative.”

India remains the largest market for Dubai tourism, with 11.9 million Indian visitors recorded in 2023, surpassing other major markets like Saudi Arabia, which had 6.7 million tourists, and the UK, with 5.9 million.

The Palette Royal Reflections Hotel and Spa is set to enhance OYO’s offerings in Dubai’s bustling hospitality sector. This launch aligns with OYO’s broader objective of expanding its global footprint in the premium property segment. Given Dubai's popularity among Indian travelers, OYO's latest venture is well-positioned to meet the rising demand for luxurious accommodations.
