Flipkart, the e-commerce marketplace, has introduced its own unified payments interface (UPI) handle to enrich its digital payment offerings.

Initially powered by Axis Bank in the first phase, Flipkart UPI will be accessible for Android users. Customers can register for UPI with the @fkaxis handle, enabling fund transfers and checkout payments within and beyond the Flipkart marketplace.

With UPI gaining popularity as the preferred payment method, Flipkart's UPI launch aims to provide unparalleled convenience and zero-cost solutions, democratizing access to seamless payment options. Users can set up their UPI handles for both online and offline merchant transactions, expanding the utility of the service.

Positioned as a rival to Paytm and Amazon Pay, Flipkart UPI also facilitates one-click mobile recharges and bill payments. Sanjeev Moghe, President & Head - Cards & Payments at Axis Bank, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, highlighting the stability and scalability of the cloud-hosted UPI platform.

To make payments using Flipkart UPI, users need to download and install the latest version of the Flipkart app, tap on the 'Flipkart UPI' banner, add their bank account, select the linked bank, and complete the verification process. After verification, users can seamlessly make payments using Flipkart UPI, either by scanning or selecting UPI during digital transactions.
