Adani-EDGE Defence and Aerospace has reached a critical agreement with EDGE Group, a major advanced technology and defence group from the UAE.
This partnership is set to build the defence and aerospace capabilities of both entities to create a global platform that caters to the requirements of both local and international markets by contributing mixed efforts into designing products for these sectors, combining the best resources that can be offered by each of the parties.
The collaboration between Adani Defence and Aerospace and EDGE Group is more than a business deal, it’s an important step towards fortifying India’s defence capabilities and advancing it’s technological capabilities.

The agreement includes evaluating cooperation across the core product domains of both companies, like missiles and weapons systems (UAS), loitering munitions, counter-drone systems, unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), as well as electronic warfare (EW) and cyber technologies.
The deal also aims to establish research and development (R&D) facilities in India and the UAE, along with development, production and maintenance facilities for defence and aerospace solutions. This initiative is not limited to serving the captive markets of the two countries but is also looking to cater to Southeast Asian and wider global markets.
Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence and Aerospace, highlighted this agreement as the beginning of a new chapter in enhancing the Indian defence sector.
“Our collaboration marks the beginning of a new era in enhancing defence capabilities, emphasising our commitment to advance technological prowess and promoting bilateral defence cooperation between India and the UAE. It is a reflection of our shared vision to fortify our nation's capabilities by not just delivering cutting-edge solutions for the two countries but also setting new benchmarks in the global defence landscape,” he said.
Meanwhile, EDGE Group’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Hamad Al Marar responded positively too.
“Our agreement with Adani Defence & Aerospace, represents a significant milestone, strengthening our ties within India's defence industry, and underscoring our mutual commitment to advancing UAE-India military ties. This agreement reflects our dedication to bringing our customers the most advanced and sophisticated products to the market while taking advantage of the global export potential including critical UAE-grown technology. We are keen to setup the joint platform between Adani Defence and Edge to pioneer new technologies and set new standards in advanced military equipment and the defence sector,” he said.
This agreement is significant to the new era of public-private partnerships in the defence sector and it signifies a major shift towards indigenous manufacturing and the development of a self-reliant and capable production house.
It will also be an important step forward for the ‘Make in India’ initiative, which aims to transform India into a global design and manufacturing hub and tap into the endless potential and resources of its people.
