Kimberly "Kimycola" Winter has broken the record for the loudest female burp in history because of her abnormally loud burps. Her burp was the loudest ever at 107.3 decibels. Elisa Cagnoni of Italy set the previous record in 2009 with 107 dB, but this beat it. Neville Sharp of Australia has a comparable record for the loudest burp in the male category. In 2021, his burp was recorded at 112.7 dB. Most people would be ashamed of this habit, but not Kimberly.

The burp of Winter, according to The Guinness World Records, is "louder than a blender (70-80 dB), an electric handheld drill (90-95 dB), and even some motorcycles at full throttle (100-110 dB)". She attended the iHeartRadio station's studios where she burped live on-air on Elliot in the Morning. In order to set the record, she had to burp in a "dead room" similar to those used in sound-recording studios in order to remove the reflected sound.

Kimberly burped incredibly loudly while standing the required distance from the microphone (8 feet 2 inches; 2.5 metres), breaking the record that had stood for 14 years, by the finest of margins. She prepped her body by eating breakfast, drinking coffee and beer, and then she burped history. Kimberly experimented for weeks, finding the foods and beverages that made her burp the loudest before settling on this combo.

Kimberly says she takes a deep breath in and then tries to “manipulate that into something monstrous and magical.” Since she was a young child, Kimberly has possessed this incredible skill, and as she got older, she just got louder and louder. When Kimberly was expelled from a bar for burping too loudly, she soon realised that she was possibly one of the loudest burpers in the world.

While her burps might not always be welcomed in public settings, they are adored online. On TikTok and YouTube, Kimberly has amassed a devoted following of burp enthusiasts who pushed her to smash the record.
