A strange story has come forward where a girl faked her own kidnapping and demanded a ransom just so that she could go abroad with her friend. It all started when a man in Madhya Pradesh received photos of his daughter, who lived in Kota, Rajasthan for her studies. In the photos sent to the man, it was visible that the girl’s hands and legs were tied up. Soon after the ‘kidnappers’ demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakhs.

The man then went to the police and explained his ordeal and after investigation, it turned out that his daughter wasn’t kidnapped and that she had faked her own kidnapping. "In the investigation so far, evidence shows that no crime has been committed against the girl and no kidnapping has taken place. From the evidence found so far, the incident appears to be false," said Kota Superintendent of Police Amrita Duhan.

During the investigation, the police found out that the girl was actually living in Indore with two friends, about 400 km away from her parents. When the police traced one of her friends, she informed them that the girl and her friend wanted to go abroad. She also informed the police that the girl could not study in India and wanted money to study abroad.

It was also revealed that the girl's location was not traced for the last 6-7 months in Kota, and she had not been admitted to any coaching institute or hostel in the city. The police said that in August last year, the girl’s mother had enrolled her in a coaching institute and stayed in Kota till August 5th after which she returned back to Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

It was also revealed that to bluff her parents and make them believe she was attending classes at the institute, the girl used a different number to send messages about her performance on tests.
