Aston Martin’s star driver had to imitate James Bond as his bag containing his immigration documents. According to a report from Catalan newspaper El Periodico, Sebastian Vettel had his bag stolen through a car window from outside his hotel following the conclusion of Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix.
As per a representative of Aston Martin, who addressed Motorsport.com on Monday, the four-time F1 titleholder attempted to find his bag using a GPS signal from the Air Pods earphones that were in the bag.
He used the 'Find my iPhone application' to find his bag, as he rode his bike all over the city with the expectation that he would recover it.
The spokesperson said, "A bag belonging to Sebastian Vettel was stolen in Barcelona this morning. He tried to find it by using his iPhone to track his earphones which were in his bag, but when he located his earphones he found them abandoned and was therefore unable to locate his stolen bag."
Police are still on the lookout for the thieves, who have hold of Vettel's 'personal documents'. It signals a bitter end to what was otherwise a fairly promising weekend for the Aston Martin man, who finished four places ahead of team-mate Lance Stroll at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
