A store in China is getting a lot of attention on the internet because of where it is. Guess what's cool about this shop? It's up really high, about 393 feet up, on the edge of a cliff.
In China's Shiniuzhai National Geological Park, located in Hunan province, there's a small wooden box hanging on the mountainside. People are calling it the "most inconvenient" convenience store globally because of its unique location. This store offers snacks and drinks to climbers who want a rest during their climb.
As reported by the Chinese state media source CCTV, the store offers beverages and a selection of snacks, which notably includes potato chips. Importantly, the prices remain reasonable, with bottled water set at a maximum of 2 yuan ($0.30).
A worker shared with the outlet, "While the store doesn't earn much money, the visitors truly appreciate it, so we find our jobs to be quite fulfilling."
Within the compact space, only one worker is present at a time. Among their responsibilities, they ensure the store's inventory is restocked every morning before sunrise. "The initial fear is quite common among new employees, but you adapt to it surprisingly fast," the worker remarked. "The sole challenge we face is managing restroom breaks. It becomes tiring to descend and then ascend again for that purpose, so we try to limit our water intake."
