We come across various matrimonial ads that mention specific and unique criteria for marriage. These criteria are generally skin color, profession, or height. But this time, a woman is looking for a ' short marriage'

In a recent matrimonial ad, a family was looking for a 'short marriage' for their daughter. The ad read, “ wanted groom from a affluent family for a short marriage, Brahmin divorcee girl, Smart educated, ( born in) 1989, 5’7" (tall). Girl running her own hospitality business in Mumbai. (Caste no bar)”.

The snapshot of the ad went viral and puzzled the internet. It was shared by Tanishka Sodhi on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption, “SHORT MARRIAGE”.

The netizens had their own interpretations of a short marriage. One user commented, “Made In Heaven S3." Another comment said, “4 phero mei shaadi krdenge (instead of 7 pheras )”. One commented, “All typos excused due to caste no bar.”

Providing some logic to the ad, one user said it might be a wording error. They might have meant a short and simple wedding, not a short-lived one.

Earlier, another ad went viral where the software engineers were asked not to call. The ad read, “Groom wanted. Hindu Pillai NV. 24/155 fair MBA beautiful girl from rich family business background seeks IAS/IPA, working doctor (PG), industrialist/businessman from same caste (software engineers kindly do not call).
