While many advocate for a three-day workweek, Tejpal Singh of Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, sets a different standard. In his 26 Years of Work, Tejpal has taken a single day off, demonstrating an extraordinary commitment to his work that extends to Sundays and holidays, including Holi and Diwali.

Tejpal Singh has been a loyal employee of Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd. since December 6, 1995. Over his career spanning 26 years, Singh has taken a single day off. This is not an exaggeration! The only day he didn’t report to work was in 2003, to partake in his brother’s wedding celebrations.

In a conversation, Tejpal shared his unwavering dedication to his profession. He began his journey in 1995 and has since taken only one leave out of the 45 paid leaves available to him annually. His exceptional dedication has earned him a place in the ‘India Book Of Records’. Tejpal’s commitment serves as a shining example of the importance of focus and dedication in one’s work.

He readies his work bag and heads to his job, never missing a day, be it a Sunday or a holiday. What’s even more remarkable is that Singh is part of a large joint family, comprising his wife, two brothers, and four children. Despite the responsibilities that come with such a family structure, he has managed to maintain his work streak over the years.
