The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra has introduced a separate lane for Ayodhya residents to construct an easy way for their darshan of Ramlalla at the temple. This new development was implemented on Tuesday, 16 July, and has already seen a number of local pilgrims utilising the new dedicated lane, according to a report by Jagran.

The lane is not yet officially designated to the locals but temple trust officials have indicated that it will soon be formalised. To gain access, Ayodhya locals must present valid ID proof.

Currently, the temple has provisions for both offline and online darshan passes. Sugam pass holders gain entry through the D1 gate, which will also be used for Ayodhya locals.

At the Teerth Seva Kendra which is located on Rampath, seven lanes have been established to manage the flow of devotees starting from 7 am each day. One lane, among the others, is specifically reserved for senior citizens and for individuals with disabilities. Additionally, discussions are in the process of introducing a monthly pass for regular pilgrims to streamline their visits.

This initiative to prioritise local pilgrims follows Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's allegations that Ayodhya residents were not invited to the temple inauguration. These claims have surfaced in the time of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) losing the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency, which includes Ayodhya.

The temple trust’s move to create a separate lane for Ayodhya locals is an effort to enhance the pilgrimage experience for the residents. The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra continues to make efforts to accommodate the needs of all devotees, to maintain a smooth and organised darshan experience.
