"The Kumbh is an interface between India's rich religious and cultural heritage and the world. Therefore, there is a need to ensure safety, convenience and cleanliness at the event," he stated during a meeting of senior officials at his residence.

Technology in Crowd Monitoring and Management

Recognizing the importance of the Kumbh as a bridge between India’s rich religious and cultural heritage and the world, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for effective crowd management.

"The police department and other stakeholders must leverage the advantage of technology for effective crowd management to avert any untoward incident. A detailed action and contingency plan must be drawn up. AI-based equipment and techniques must be used to keep an eye on crowd density so that any possible clustering may be dispersed before the group upsets order in any pocket," he stated. He urged officials to engage professional agencies to organize the event, spread the word globally, and invite pilgrims and tourists to be part of this historic gathering.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the spiritual importance of the Ganga and Kalpvasis during the Maha Kumbh. He directed officials to ensure that the event adheres to a green theme. Additionally, efforts will be made to keep the Ganga clean from Bijnor to Ballia.

Compared to the 2019 Kumbh, which covered 3200 hectares, the 2025 Mela will span an area of 4000 hectares. The police personnel will receive training and sensitization for their duties during the event, emphasizing warmth, dignity, and effective communication with pilgrims and visitors.

Infrastructure projects, such as the corridor connecting Akshay Vat, Saraswati Koop, and Patalpuri Temple, are underway. The Chief Minister suggested seeking assistance from the Indian Army unit in Prayagraj to accelerate progress.

Lastly, arrangements for international VIP and VVIP guests are being meticulously planned. The Urban Development Department aims to set up over 1.5 lakh toilets on the ground, with more than 10,000 sanitation workers ensuring their functionality.
