Days after the teaser of OMG 2 has released, the film faced a setback as the Central Board of Certification (CBFC) decided to put its release on hold. The decision comes in the wake of the recent controversy surrounding the release of Adipurush, directed by Om Raut. Adipurush faced heavy criticism for its use of foul language upon its release last month, leading to dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla offering an ‘unconditional apology’ for hurting people's emotions.

OMG 2 features a cast including Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam in lead roles, and is scheduled to hit theaters on August 11. According to reports, the CBFC has not only delayed the film but has also referred it to the Revision Committee for an extensive review, taking relevant measures.

The teaser of OMG 2 showcases Pankaj Tripathi in the role of Kanti Sharan Mudgal, a worshipper of Lord Shiva. Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, portrays the character of Lord Shiva, who comes to the aid of Kanti's family in the face of a significant tragedy. Yami Gautam takes on the role of a lawyer in the film.

While controversies surrounding the portrayal of Hindu gods in a wrong way persist in the film industry, Bollywood continues to navigate this sensitive terrain. The recent criticisms of Adipurush serve as a reminder of the delicate balance filmmakers must strike between artistic freedom and the sentiments of the audience.
