The Yogi Adityanath led UP government have granted approval to the proposal of building a "Museum of Temples" in the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram. The project is funded through Tata Sons' corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The Indian Temple Museum will be constructed in Manjha Jamthara village in Sadar tehsil of Ayodhya, with an investment of Rs 650 crore. An additional Rs 100 crore will be spent on the development of some basic infrastructure at the site.

As per the Indian Express report, the State Tourism Minister, Jaiveer Singh, provided the details of cabinet approval on the project, he revealed that the land for the museum will be provided on a lease for a nominal fee of Re 1/year for 90 years by the tourism department.

The proposal to sign a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) involving the Union Ministry of Culture, UP government and Tata Sons has been approved.

The cabinet also informed that further decisions on the project will be taken by CM Yogi. For now, The UP Principal Secretary of Culture has been handed the authority to sign the MoU on the state government's behalf.

The UP government has shown belief in Tata Sons' as their involvement will help in building the museum under skilled observation. Tourism has been boosted after the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple. Since then, around 2-4 lakh tourists have been visiting Ayodhya daily.

As per the PTI, the cabinet meeting also approved a few other proposals, including the launch of helicopter services in Lucknow, Prayagraj and Kapilvastu under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, which will lead to the construction of new helipads.

The cabinet sanctioned the development of dormant buildings into tourist spots. Several spots, including Kothi Roshan Dulha in Lucknow, Barsana Jal Mahal in Mathura and Shukla Talab in Kanpur, were selected for development as tourist spots.
